Explore the Mighty Altamaha River: One of America's

Last Great Places, Georgia's Natural Treasure!

 

A 16 mile family paddle with experienced guides. Members of the Wayne County Rescue squad will also accompany the paddlers. The Paddle will begin at Paradise Park in Wayne County and conclude at Altamaha Fish Camp at Everett City in Glynn County. Bring a sack lunch for the midpoint stop at Williamsburg Landing. Meet at Paradise Park at 6:45 a.m. to drop off canoes/kayaks and then move vehicles to the take out point at Altamaha Fish Camp. Shuttles will leave to take paddlers back to the put in point at Paradise Park at 7:30 a.m. Individuals renting equipment need to be at Altamaha Fish Camp no later than 7:15 a.m. The excursion will begin at 8:00 a.m. from Paradise Park.

 

 Entry Fees: Adults $10.00, Children 10 and under free.  Bring your canoes, kayaks, life jackets, sunscreen, and a sack lunch.  For canoe or kayak rentals see approved outfitters.  Outfitter will be on site to deliver and pick up rental canoes and equipment.  Altamaha River Run T-shirts will be available for purchase, $10.

Altamaha River Run Shuttle Information

After registration, vehicles will be moved to the take-out point and then shuttles will be available back to the put-in point. The run will start at 8:15 a.m. sharp, so come early, so you won’t miss the shuttles.  Plan to arrive at Paradise Park no later than 6:45 a.m. to drop off canoes/kayaks and then move vehicles to Altamaha Fish Camp.  Individuals renting equipment can go directly to Altamaha Fish Camp.  The shuttles will be leaving Altamaha Fish Camp at 7:30 a.m.  Please do not block private driveways or roadways.  Port-a-potties will be available at beginning, end and lunch stop.
